One of the greatest strengths of every servant leader is to see people like him supporting his government in the service of dividend delivery to the public. Every leader is obligated to provide basic amenities to his people, but even this duty should not be left for these leaders alone. This is why Humanitarians are needed in every progressive society to aid the development of that society.

Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme, Njikokamma Enugu State, is one of such Humanitarians consistently supporting the leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in service delivery for a better Enugu State. Through his Maurice Akueme Foundation, MAF, Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme has touched the common man and often forgotten in the society, just the way His Excellency the Governor has always done.

One of such important service delivery is making sure Enugu State stands the test of time in the digital demands of the world through ICT. Solely funded by Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme, the Maurice Akueme Foundation successfully established the MAF ICT Resources and Training Centre.

Knowing the importance of ICT in the tech-driven 21st century world, the MAF ICT Resource and Training Centre has come in handy to position Ukana, Udi Local Government on the digital map, training them on IT knowledge and skills. Usually computers affect every facet of our lives and every sector of the global society and employers prefer workers who are computer literate because they are more productive and efficient at work than those who are not computer literate. This is why this ICT Resource and Training Center is one of the novel most important projects ever done in such remote area in recent times.

This free ICT Resource and Training Center is located in Umuozolu, Amoebota, Ukana in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State. Boasting of standard learning environment and IT gadgets, the Centre has successfully graduated over 500 students since inception, churned out at least 200 computer literate annually, and aims at increasing the number going forward.

This novel brainchild of this good Humanitarian, Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme, is one way of extending the good works of the Executive Governor to the rural areas. Recall that His Excellency the Governor has established and inaugurated the Enugu State Tech Hubs and Youth Innovation Centers located within the precincts of the Three-Arms-Zone, Independence Layout, Enugu North LGA, Enugu, and another in Obollo Afor, in Udenu Local Government Area of the State. According to His Excellency, the centres’ establishment is aimed at offering services such as ICT training in Software Development, Website design/Hosting, Linus/Unix systems, Graphic Designs, Internet of things (IoT) to the Enugu State citizens.

What His Excellency; the Governor started has continued to gain grounds in remote areas through thoughtful individuals like Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme, and a few others.

One who is tested with nothing and he delivered deserves to be trusted with something. As GBURUS CONTINUES TO BE IN CHARGE, we hope that the hope of the common man returns through Akueme’s Emergence to represent Enugu West in the National Assembly.
