A philanthropist is someone who donates their money, experience, time, talent or skills to help others and create a better world, country, state or community.
Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme isn’t in it for fame or recognition. The biggest benefit of being a philanthropist is that it fulfills some of his deepest human needs.
We all have these needs: certainty, significance, variety, love/connection, growth and contribution. Which of these needs is most important to us and the ways we go about fulfilling them are what make us who we are.
Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme has over the years proven to be honestly concerned about the welfare of his people, irrespective of tribe or zone.
Philanthropy is what supplies charities with the funds, personnel and equipment they need.
Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme has over the years through the Maurice Akueme foundation (MAF) made several charitable donations to the youths, undergraduates several other people in the world thus making him an outstanding philanthropist.

His charitable feats are not just felt only in Nigeria but beyond.
The MAF has a goal which is to
improve the quality of life for individuals around the world; and subsequently that mandate have been yielding results.
Our primary aim is to add value to lives of the less privileged in the society.
Motto: Alleviate, Palliate & Empower (MAF).
Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme has helped and is still helping a lot of undergraduates to fulfill their lifelong dream of going to school to acquire knowledge.
Today it is the Udenu graduates and undergraduates bringing his good works to limelight.
And the question I ask is this?;
Is chief Maurice Emeka Akueme from Udenu?? No.
But his charitable wings have covered the state and the country as a a whole.
I will not be surprised if chief Maurice Emeka Akueme receive another Award tomorrow because he has done so much.
Yet I will conclude by saying out of the ten lepers healed only one returned with Thanksgiving.
