Enugu Designated As Oil Producing State
Enugu is set to join other states to enjoy oil producing status.
Coming months after the state executive Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi made a loud appeal to the RMAFC.
This is the outcome of an impactful meeting of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, (RMAFC), in Abuja, the Nigeria’s capital.
Quoting an inside source, Freedom Square Tv said the netting ratified the request of Enugu to join other states in getting the revenue accrued to oil producing states.

In October 2021, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi made a passionate appeal to the leadership of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to expedite action on the process to formally designate Enugu State as an oil-producing state in the country.
The governor drew the attention of RMAFC to the fact that “Enugu is about the only state in Nigeria which produces crude oil in commercial quantities without being formally accorded the status of an oil-bearing state”.
The PDP Guber candidate, Barr. Peter Mbah who is an oil magnate has also pledged to turn Enugu to an oil producing state and not just bearing the statue.
