Gov. Mbah Receives Delegation From Nigeria Electrification Project/African Development Bank (NEP/AfDB)

Gov Mbah was delighted to welcome the NEP/AfDB delegation and look forward to working together towards the deployment of productive use appliances and equipment.

Governor Peter Mbah, Wednesday, Recieved a delegation from the Nigeria Electrification Project/African Development Bank (NEP/AfDB) to discuss the deployment of Productive Use Appliances and Equipment (PUE). The delegation, led by Engr Michael Nwatu, Amb. Larry Edeh, Dr. Chris Edeh, and Mary Egbo, held a fruitful meeting with the governor at the Government House of Enugu State, according to a post on his official Facebook page.

The NEP/AfDB delegation expressed its commitment to supporting Enugu State in its efforts to improve access to energy in rural areas and tackle the challenge of food losses. The team emphasized on the importance of leveraging productive use of appliances and equipments to transform agricultural processes, enhance productivity, and ultimately uplift the livelihoods of the rural population.

Access to reliable energy is crucial for the socio-economic advancement of rural communities. It not only enhances productivity and income generation but also strengthens agricultural sector.

According to the Governor, in his post, the team is responsible for providing access to energy in rural areas as there will be improved efficiency of food processing, preservation, and storage. This will significantly contribute to reducing food losses, enhancing food security, and boosting the incomes of farmers in Enugu State, it reads.
