IGP Opens Portal For More Recruitment In The Force

The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, on Friday assured that the police would continue to employ more personnel to take care of its manpower needs.

He gave the assurance in Katsina State during the commissioning of the newly-built Dandagoro divisional police headquarters and barracks.

The IGP revealed that it was in realisation of the need for manpower in the police that more personnel were being recruited.

He added that the recently recruited police personnel who are passing out soon would be deployed to their respective Local Government Areas for easier operations and commitment.

“Those newly recruited who are passing out soon would be sent to their respective Local Government Areas.They have the knowledge of their councils and would combine this with the knowledge acquired in the police to perform well in their communities,” he declared.

IGP Usman also urged people to always support security operatives ,insisting people’s support and collaboration are needed for security agencies to succeed.

The IGP who marvelled at the new edifice directed that the AIG in charge of Zone 14 should have his office there.

He urged Governor Aminu Masari to assist him in appealing to residents of the state to see the edifice as their own and should be protected from vandals.

Governor Masari in his address, also remarked that security has become “a collaborative effort” by all instead of seeing it as the only responsibility of security agents.

He said his government would not cease in rendering assistance to security operatives in the state with a view to tackling security challenges.

The Governor also urged the police to ensure that their legal department work in synergy with other officers in the judiciary section to see to the prompt determination of criminal cases.

The Katsina state Police Commissioner,Idris Dabban, in his address, declared that security situation in the state was still fragile, assuring that the police ,in collaboration with other security agencies in the state, would not relent in their efforts at tackling the problem.

Highlight of the occasion was the joint inauguration of the newly built edifice by Masari and the IGP.
