John Okafor Sets To Be Buried As Family Announces Sequence Of Events, Burial Date For The Movie Icon

The family of late Nollywood star has announced a sequence of events leading to the eventual final burial of John Ikechukwu Okafor, Mr. Ibu

John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu has been set to be laid to rest, this decision is made known to the public by The Ibu’s family.

The family of late Nollywood star has announced a sequence of events leading to the eventual final burial of John Ikechukwu Okafor, Mr. Ibu. Ibu who died on March 3 has been slated to be buried in his home town, in Amuri, Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State on June, 28, with the following events in sequence.

Tuesday, June 25th will feature a novelty match between Nollywood and Rangers Intl FC in honor of Mr. Ibu, Wednesday, June 26, will feature Mr. Ibu’s Candle light procession and entertainment night, Thursday June 27, Christian Wake-Keep at his compound in Eziokwe Amuri.

The 5-day burial ceremony will be capped with a Thanksgiving outing on Sunday June, 30th.

In a press statement by the burial Planning Committee Chairman, Hon Monday Diamond Ani, he said “Mr. Ibu is going to be buried as a hero because he died a hero”.

In another statement from the late actor’s family jointly signed by Elder Sunday Okafor(Mr Ibu’s elder brother) and Mr Ibu’s immediate family, Mr Ibu made his community, Enugu state, Nigeria, Africa and the world proud while alive;

“The Okafor family in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State wishes to honour the loving memory of our hero and a legend John Ikechukwu Okafor who even in death has left a legacy of love, laughter and liveliness.

“We would appreciate your esteemed presence as we lay to rest our son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and in-law on the 28th of June 2024.

“Kindly join us as we share the best and last moments with our icon,” the statement stated.
