Labour Party Forced Peter Obi On Us – Former Aspirant Reveals

A former presidential aspirant on the platform of the Labour Party, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, has claimed that the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure, forced Peter Obi on them as consensus presidential candidate.
The aggrieved presidential aspirant made the claim in a 2 minutes 20 seconds video, which he was shared on Twitter.

In the video seen by The Eagle Online on Sunday, he claimed that the National Chairman of the party lied to Nigerians that his (Joseph’s) withdrawal from the race was voluntary.

Joseph added that Professor Pat Utomi lied he was one of the presidential aspirants stepping down for Obi, claiming Utomi and Obi joined the party four days before its primary.

He said:
“Barrister Aburi, the Chairman of our party, went to the national television to say my withdrawal for the race was a voluntary.

“I don’t want to say the elder is lying on national TV.

“I will want him to respond to them when footages and what went down starts appearing on social media and national TV in the next couple of days… to talk to Nigerian people and tell them the truth so that people can be able to decide what they want to do before the next election.

“The fact is a lot of time, we have candidate that we believe is going to bring change without checking the antecedent of that candidate.

“I was also thinking that Peter Obi will be the best for our country, but I was wrong until I knew the truth.

“I know a lot of you are addicted to Obi-dient and Peter Obi, but it is actually important for you to sit down and break down the issue on ground than supporting a candidate that you can’t vouch for.

“Remember eight years ago, some of us vouched for a candidate that is our president now.

“But what happened?

“But what are we talking about it.

“I was the only authentic presidential candidate that ran for presidency on Labour Party.

“Pat Utomi was just a kangaroo arrangement.

“Now they say Pat Utomi stepped down.

“Where did Pat Utomi declare for presidency?

“There is no where.

“He came to Labour Party four days to the primary together with Peter Obi to come and step down, it was a kangaroo arrangement.

“All of these will unfold in public when time comes.”
