Abure specifically urged Labour Party lawmakers not to partake in what he termed as wasteful expenditure. However, the practicality of his proposal has been called into question, particularly in light of the absence of alternative provisions for them to effectively carry out their legislative responsibilities.

This development underscores the complexities faced by lawmakers in making decisions that balance their professional obligations with financial prudence, and highlights the need for transparent and accountable allocation of resources within the National Assembly. It also prompts a broader conversation about fiscal responsibility in government spending, especially in challenging economic times.
