MAF Visits Joy Village as Time Table is Set For Christmas
It was indeed joyful meeting the kids who were happy and as well entertained the MAF family.
The Resident Priest Rev. Fr. Ogada who narrated the touching stories and ordeals of the kids said that some of those kids who are seen as bad eggs in the society are actually not bad.
He said that circumstances could change one’s behaviours, he also said the society can equally influence one’s behaviours.
He advised parent and guardians to take care in bringing up their kids/wards and not to allow them experience emotional trauma, social crisis especially in the family as whatever they experience will forever remain in their hearts and shall continue to influence them.
Looking at the kids, they looked happy and even portrayed joy, the priest however lamented that their challenges have been lack of support from organizations, individuals and government.
He however commended the Maurice Akueme Foundation for always being there for the poor, the downtrodden and the less privileged and for always remembering to visit the joy village especially in difficult times like this.
MAF palliated them with food stuffs and cash and as well supported the community with lots of Christmas gifts.
The Deputy Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly Hon. Uche Callistus Ugwu also made some cash donation to support the visit.
The National Coordinator Hon Mike CJ Madu(Gburuchi) who led the movement in reaction thanked the priest for words of advise, encouragement and the kids for the entertainment.
He encouraged them never to give up in the struggle for better life.
Gburuchi vowed that the foundation will always keep up with its focal points and will continue to visit the community to ensure that the kids continues to live in joy just as the name implies.
In conclusion he appreciated Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme, his wife Lolo Olivia Akueme who made the visit entirely possible.
He also extended appreciation to The Deputy Speaker; Enugu state House of Assembly Hon Uche Callistus Ugwu for supporting the visit.
