MAPOLY: As The Strike Persists, The Ogun Assembly Plans To Hold A Public Hearing To Address The Situation.

The Ogun State House of Assembly has finalized arrangements to hold a public hearing to address the challenges faced by Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta. The aim is to find lasting solutions to the crisis.

MAPOLY’s financial crisis began the moment the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) started regulating the number of students it could admit annually.

The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Hon Yusuf Amosun, had presented the motion at the plenary, even as the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, said it also received what he called e-petition on the same matter.

During plenary on Tuesday, the Ogun Assembly said it had received reports of disruption of academic calendar in MAPOLY due to incessant strikes by the academic staff.

The Speaker revealed that the Assembly intends to hold a public meeting involving stakeholders of the institution, including the governing council, management, staff, students, and others. The purpose of the meeting is to find a lasting solution to the school’s issues.
