Maurice Akueme Foundation Commissions New Head Office, Free Computer Center, Njikokamma Family Secretariat In Ukana

Charityreporters covered the grand opening ceremony of the Maurice Akueme Foundation (MAF) head office , Computer center and Njikokamma Family Secretariat at the Ikenge junction along old Nsukka Road, Ukana, Udi LGA.

The founder/president MAF stated that the need to do this became apparent when he received a report that transportation and proximity was posing a challenge for indigents and rural dwellers to fully identify with the foundation and get their needs met.

Relocating the Head office of MAF from Uwani, Enugu to Ukana Community in Udi LGA, will ensure that the goal of taking charge of the grassroots welfare will become easier and always available and reachable since MAF head office is now a stone throw.

In his opening speech the Founder/president MAF, Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme (JP) expressed joy to his people.

“its a honour having all of you here, it’s a previlege and I really appreciate everyone who took out time, out of their busy schedule to grace the occasion, and right now we’re ready to go, we thank God for his care, and his provisions.”

While welcoming the Igwe, HRH Tagbo .C. Ubaka, Oduoha ll of Ukana Community and his Cabinet, the founder/president MAF confirmed that the king was a very good family friend, whose relationship started with his parents and he was honoured to receive him at the occasion.

He also promise to visit the Igwe in his palace on his next visit to Ukana.

While responding, HRH Tagbo .C. Ubaka Oduoha II of Ukana stated that, “it’s really wonderful thing that a young man of your age will devote his time, money and resources to come and help the less previleged people in this community, I cannot on behalf of this community thank you enough Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme.”

“I am calling on the government authorities to come over and add salt to the already prepared food to make it sweet.”

While acknowledging igwe Oduoha’s plea, the founder/president MAF made it clear that his philanthropic exploits in the UK, Uganda, Nigeria and especially in enugu state were never politically motivated.

The occasion was also marked by the graduation and issuance of certificates to the best graduating set of the foundations free computer training program.

A member of the Igwe’s cabinet confirmed to our correspondent at the occasion that his own son is beneficiary of the foundations free computer training program.

Mr Peter Oha (ohaneze) a prominent son of Ukana said he could not hold back his Joy when he learnt that the foundation was coming to Ukana and in his own building.

He stated that he happily gave out the building out to MAF, when they mentioned Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme because he has heard so much about the foundation and it’s founder/ president, he confirmed to our correspondent at the occasion that he is indeed proud to identify with the Maurice Akueme Foundation (MAF).

Confirming the foundations charitable contributions to the community and the country, Barr. Sam Egwu, administrator for Udi North, who spoke at the occasion said he was amazed at the feats achieved by the Foundations as proactively led by Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme (JP), he further explained that the Covid 19 period saw the best of the foundations charitable donations and philanthropy.

The grand opening ceremony of the Head office of MAF, Computer Training Center, Njikokamma Family Secretariat was marked with so many testimonials.
