NACESS: Gov. Ugwuanyi Restores Hope of Enugu State Students Studying in Jos

Finally hope have been restored to Enugu state student community in Jos as Governor Ugwuanyi makes provision for their safe evacuation from the troubled region.

It’s on record that the capital of Plateau state Nigeria, Jos have been experiencing horrific religious and tribal crisis over the years. The recent incidence which began weeks ago and has claimed over 100 lives has been a scary experience for both indigenes of the state and non-indigenes especially students studying at the popular university of Jos (UNIJOS).

Students who felt the gory situation took up to various social media to create awareness about the situation at hand which prompted several state to carryout evacuation exercises for her students in the troubled capital of the state.

The National Council of Enugu State Students (NACESS) worldwide were contacted through her student’s representatives of the institution by name Comr. Onah Anthony Chimaobi who lamented the bad state of affairs and cried for help.

Comr. Onah Joseph Onyemaechi the National President of NACESS who received the information of the crisis in Jos from far Jordan directed the Council’s Secretary General Comr. Arum Sorpuluchukwu to gather data of students affected by the crisis at the moment.

Onah on receiving all data of event in return cried out to the Government of Enugu State and advised her on the need to safely evacuate her students and reunite them with their families.

The peace loving Governor of Enugu State immediately swiped into action through his Special Assistant on Student Affairs Hon. Chidi Ilogebe.

With the help of the S.A to the Governor it’s now official that the process which has lasted about two days is coming to an end as the Governor upon notification and briefing swang into action and made provisions for three buses to aid the evacuation process, of which two buses will help bring back her citizens to the state while the other one will help in moving citizens who are residing in abuja and it’s environs who are of Enugu State extraction.

The returning students are expected to arrive the state by Sunday, 22nd of August 2021 all hail and hearty.

So far no indigene of the state have lost his/her life to the crisis and the manner in which the government of Enugu State under the exemplary leadership of Rt. Hon. Dr. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has responded to the situation have been very commendable.

The National Council of Enugu State Students (NACESS) worldwide led by Rt. Comr. Onah Joseph Onyemaechi(JP) wishes to also appreciate other well meaning individuals who have been instrumental in seeing to the fruition of the entire exercise as we hope and pray for calm to be restored to the troubled region and the safety of everyone in the state.
