NAFDAC DG Addresses Concerns on Nigerian Food Products Rejection in the UK

The Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, has shed light on the reasons behind the rejection of Nigerian food products in the United Kingdom (UK). She identified key issues such as non-compliance with advisory guidelines set by NAFDAC and exporters’ reluctance to adhere to basic sanitary measures.

In a concerted effort to tackle this challenge head-on, Adeyeye revealed that a dedicated side event was convened with the UK Food Standard Agency. This significant meeting took place during the Nigeria-UK Enhanced Trade & Investment Partnership workshop held in London. The event, hosted under the UK-Developing Country Trading Scheme, saw the Nigerian delegation led by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, & Investment.
