Narrating the story; Chinaza said she was intercepted by two men inside a tricycle, one was the rider while the other sat as a passenger who missed his way as he claimed.
Chinaza haven heard their plea innocently joined them to aid the lost man find his way.
According to Chinaza, on getting to a point, she was shown gun and asked not to say a word but to submit everything she had on her at the moment.
Her phone, ATM Card, transfer and withdrawals pin were all collected before they zoomed off.
It was at this moment of her emotional shock that she was staggering into the express road that the council led by Comr Onah Joseph Onyemaechi who were on their convoy stopped to rescue her.
Chinaza was taken to the Independence lay out police station where she made an entry of event.
After the condolences visit the council decided to revisit Chinaza where she lives to ensure that her state of mind is stable, at this time the council donated N10,000 and gave to Chinaza for her upkeep while they followed up the case to see how to help her.
The National President assured Chinaza that the council will see to the root of the matter and vowed that the culprits must be brought to book.
The post of Chinaza’s ordeal went viral on every social media platform via the council’s media network, seeking for justice and help for Chinaza.
This publicity melted the heart of the patron of the National Council of Enugu State Students Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme who donated N100,000 to enable Chinaza pay her fees, house rent and upkeep.
This gesture brought Chinaza back to smiles as the council revisited to deliver the good news.
While making his delivery speech; the National President Comr Onah commended Akueme and condemned the act of hoodlums duping and robbing a student of her entire life savings.
He charged the security agencies to do the needful by bringing the perpetrators to book.
Speaking further; he reassured Chinaza of hope and support from the council and promised that the welfare committed will ensure that she returns to her normal state of mind.
He also reassured all indigenous students of Enugu state that their welfare is his utmost concern and that of the council and that their administration under the ebullient leadership of Onah will continue to elevate and cater for the welfare of students of Enugu origin.
On that note, he released a corresponding email for all concerns of Enugu state students to be messaged directly to his desk as their administration will give zero tolerance to ill-being or hardship.
While calling on all chapter and kpôrakpô welfare directors to get back to work, he asked students of Enugu state descend to forward verifiable issues to nacesswelfarecare@gmailcom.
“We have prioritized the welfare of our own students studying in any part of the world.
“As for Chinaza, her story has changed henceforth as we will ensure that she is entirely lifted out of her problems through philanthropists and free will donors”, he concluded.
Comr Ojobo Ojobo the Council’s Director for Contact and Mobilization advised students on security tips -to avoid boarding any vehicle conveying only boys or men.
