Nigerian Power Minister Calls for Enhanced Performance from GenCos and DisCos

The Nigerian Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, has emphasized the need for both Generating Companies (GenCos) and Distribution Companies (DisCos) to enhance their performance to bolster the nation’s electricity supply.
In a statement released by the Special Adviser, Strategic Communication and Media Relations to the minister, Bolaji Tunji, it was stated that Minister Adelabu conveyed this message during a meeting with the management teams of GenCos and DisCos in Abuja.
The gathering was convened with the primary aim of seeking enduring solutions to the prevailing challenges within the power sector, which have had adverse effects on the economic growth and development of Nigeria.
Minister Adelabu asserted that regular meetings with all stakeholders involved in the power generation, transmission, and distribution processes would be instituted. This approach would ensure consistent assessment and review of advancements in the power sector.
