NYSC Director-General Warns Against Night Journeys As Corps Members Prepare For Passing Out

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Brigadier General Y.D Ahmed, has warned that corps members are not to embark on night journeys as they finish their service and go back to meet their families.

The DG added that the distribution of Certificates of National Service would be done at the Local Government basis on Thursday 12th October, 2023.

He commended the invaluable contributions of corps members to national development, especially their performances during the 2023 general elections, likewise their interventions in the health, education, rural development and other sectors of the economy.

He also advised the Corps Members to uphold the ideals of patriotism, diligence, loyalty, self-empowerment they learnt during service.

The DG issued the warning in a statement issued by the Scheme’s Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, on Monday, amid the Scheme’s preparations for the Passing-Out of the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 corps members.

Ahmed stated in Abuja on Monday said that the Scheme had mapped-out week-long activities for the outgoing corps members which include; job creation and employment opportunities after service, which would be handled by experienced officers from the NYSC and the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).
