Charity Reporters gathered that passengers are stranded at the  Akanu Ibiam International Airport due to constant delay and shift of flight schedules.

Our correspondence who has been at the terminal point of the airport since early hours of today reported that passengers have been stranded at the airport as no aircraft had taken off as the time of filing this report.

“Passengers are seen sitting on the floor with their luggages beside them, while they wait patiently for arrival of any aircraft”. He said Air Peace arrived, it was however reported that the plane is not in good flying condition, therefore encouraged passengers to wait for another flight to land from Lagos.

Interviewing a FAAN Official at the airport, who pleaded anonymity, he said the constant delay and flight reschedule, is as a result of an ongoing protest in Lagos State.

Charity Reporters had reported about an ongoing protest in Lagos, by The Aviation Transport Service Senior Staff of Nigeria.

It reported thus; The Aviation Transport Service Senior Staff of Nigeria, on Tuesday, began protest at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos terminal two over the dismissal of 37 workers by the Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited.

The Chief Executive Officer Centurion Aviation Security and Safety Consult, John Ojikutu, in a message sent to our correspondent said the protest, which is currently going on at the MMA2 Terminal by ATSSSAN, has left passengers stranded due to the blockage at the entrance of the terminal by the union.

He further expressed displeasure over the demonstration by the union, adding that it is high time the lawlessness of the unions were curtailed by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, which is the regulatory body.
