A forefront presidential aspirant and Labour Party Presidential standard bearer, Peter Obi has received yet another big nod, or call it endorsement from daughter of a popular nationalist, Obafemi Awolowo.
Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu, the daughter of Nigerian nationalist and statesman, Obafemi Awolowo, has declared support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
Awolowo-Dosunmu in a video she posted on social media, alleged there’s a plot to get rid of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, if he wins the 2023 election.
She said this is the first time Nigerians doesn’t have to chose between PDP and APC. “We have a very good choice, which is Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti. There’s no way we can say we can’t see this.
Making a case for Igbo Presidency, she asked the last time an Igbo man presided over Nigeria, adding that it should be their turn to lead the country.
She called on the Yorubas to eschew emotions, ethnicity and think about the future of Nigeria, stressing that there was a plot to get rid of Tinubu and install his running mate, Kashim Shettima as president.
Awolowo-Dosunmu claimed that the plot may be perfected immediately after the 2023 swearing-in.
She said those behind the plot would leverage on Tinubu’s state of health.
Awolowo-Dosunmu appealed to Yorubas to stop being sentimental and tribalist about the three major candidates contesting for the office of the presidency.
“They are plotting against Tinubu; Yorubas should wake up. They are aware of Tinubu’s medical condition.
“All they are planning is, immediately after handing over and swearing-in, they are going to get rid of Tinubu and Shettima will be your next president if you are not careful, that’s the plot!
“Yorubas have to wake up and not allow emotions to lead us.
The people that gave Tinubu that flag knows what they’re doing, it’s because they want Shettima to be President because Tinubu is sick”.
In her words, she said Peter Obi is the best choice for 2023, meanwhile she didn’t consider Atiku Abubakar in her message to Nigerians.
