Ronaldo was denied a penalty in the 15th minute after an aerial challenge from Gaby Kiki.

However, United took the lead in the 19th minute when Christian Eriksen picked out Jadon Sancho on the edge of the area with a reverse pass with Sancho dribbled past a defender before placing the ball in the bottom corner.

United doubled their advantage before half-time courtesy of Ronaldo’s penalty, after Kpozo fouled Dalot in the box.

Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to scored his first goal of the season with a cool finish from six yards.

Ronaldo could have taken his tally to 700 club goals but side-footed over from the edge of the area. He will not get the chance to add to that until 2nd of October against rivals Manchester City.
