See What Bashir El-Rufai Vows To Do With Alleged Obi/Oyedepo’s Leaked Phone Conversation

Bashir El-Rufai, son of Kaduna State Governor and member of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council, Sunday morning, reacted to the controversial phone conversation between Peter Obi and Pastor David Oyedepo. Bashir promised to translate it into Hausa and share it with the wider communities in the North.

Recall that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Gregory Obi has come under heavy backlash after an alleged audio of his phone conversation urging Pastor David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church to speak to his followers to vote for Labour Party during electioneering to 2023 presidential elections. Mr Obi, according to the alleged audio conversation, described the election as a ‘Religious war’.

Oyedepo Reacts To Leaked Audio Conversation With Peter Obi

While reacting to the leaked conversation, Bashir El-Rufai took to his Twitter handle and said: “I pledge to do all in my small power to ensure that recording of Saint Obi is translated to Hausa and disseminated in as much areas in the North as possible having now been confirmed by his highly respected Spokesman, Kenneth Okonkwo.”

Meanwhile, Bishop Oyedepo, during Sunday service, told the congregation that he has never campaigned for any political party, and has never been told what to say.

Charity Reporters had reported that Kenneth Okonkwo in a tweet confirmed the audio, but however rebuffed any linkage to religious war, he said it was a private phone discussion between Peter Obi and Bishop Oyedepo, where Peter Obi was begging Oyedepo to talk to his followers to vote for him, in a country where the President elect, with his vice among other relevant positions in the country are Muslims.

Charity Reporters also reported that Bishop Oyedepo had reacted to the claim, saying he has never campaigned for any political party and will never be told what to say.
