The Senator, representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone in the 10th Assembly, Senator Osita Ngwu has waded into a matter that has troubled the Ibite Okpatu community for months, an issue which is said to be affecting the community as the rainy season deepens.
Ibite Okpatu community, in Udi LGA of Enugu state had their joy regained on hearing the news that the responsive Senator had set to intervene into the matter of erosion caused by road construction by the Arab Contractors, handling the 9th mile-Opi road. This road, according to the people of Ibite Okpatu, is a welcome development to the community, the zone and the entire state but recalled that the non careful management by the contractor company is causing disastrous menace to the community, which they decried and beckoned on their leaders to intervene.

The Senator representing the good people of Enugu West and Senate Minority Whip of the 10th National Assembly, Senator Osita Ngwu, on getting the wind of the erosion menace caused by the road contractors in charge of the road construction from 9th mile to Opi Nsukka, through his SA on Water Resources, Hon. Okwudili Ugbor (Dove), immediately intervened, and the contractors have assured the community of not only providing two catchment ponds, but also to ensure that such never happened again.
Prior to this moment, this challenge had brought rift amongst the people of Ibite Okpatu and their leaders. The leaders who had visited the contractors on several occasions, but all efforts proved abortive, until Senator Ngwu’s intervention, which has returned normalcy.
In appreciation, the community thanked the Law maker for this magnanimity, always putting his Constituents first, and assured him of their prayers and unalloyed support.
