UK Prime Minister Announces Important Packages Of Support To Help Households With The Cost Of Living

The newly elected Prime Minister of UK, Liz Truss, has announced some packages that will help citizens, households and residence  with the cost of living.

Nigerian Kemi Badenoch MP, who was recently appointed Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade by PM Liz Truss — wrote on her wall.

“Today the Prime Minister announced an important package of support to help households with the cost of living.

“These measures will give people across our constituency certainty for the coming months and include:

✓ Introducing a new Energy Price Guarantee, ensuring that the average household pays no more than £2,500 per year for their energy bills for the next two years

✓ Temporarily suspending green levies, saving households £150 a year on average

✓ Setting up a discretionary fund to ensure that those living in park homes or using heating oil will not be left out of support – addressing concerns that have come up in my inbox frequently over the past few weeks

✓ Providing six months of support for businesses equivalent to the measures outlined above, which will continue for vulnerable sectors after this period

✓ Establishing an Energy Supply Taskforce to end reliance on foreign energy, with a view to making the UK a net energy exporter by 2040

✓ Launching a review to ensure we deliver net zero by 2050 in a way that is pro-business and pro-growth.
