University of Nigeria Nsukka is after it’s student’s lives. Federal universities are usually the last hope of most Nigerian parents because it is perceived to be very affordable. The students of UNN are still yet to understand why 40k was added to the fees of students without prior notice. Students are expected to pay 120k+, 95K, 85k, etc.. depending on the level of study overnight.
It bothers the students more because majority stay in the school hostel and without payment of school fees, it is impossible to get a hostel bed space. It is an emergency because new session has started already and hostel portal is proposed to open from next week Monday.
Students are not just restless but confused as to how to get both money for hiked school fees and hostel fees in just 4 days or less.
The students are saying that they should be allowed to pay their normal fees because the economy is hard already and many students are singlehandedly seeing themselves through school.
