Chief Obinna Nganga’s Chieftaincy Conferment, An Appreciation Of Goodwill From His People
Chief Nganga was also honoured by Nigerian Police Force, Enugu State Command with the compliment of CP Kanayo Uzuegbu psc(+) Commissioner of Police Enugu State….
It is said that goodwill earns respect, Chief Nganga is a beneficiary of such respect for goodwill from his people, despite the lots of controversies which surrounded his Conferment, from some royal households and contemporaries in Enugu State who viewed him as a competitor, he won the hearts of the people, mostly the common man.
Nganga’s goodwill through philanthropy, construction of roads, security support, Youth empowerment, business support, skill acquisition programs, student scholarship, restoration of electricity, among other community development projects, all with personal funds, has earned him the title; UGWUNYE-EZEDIKE 1 of Enugu State.
In an opening remark, the coordinator general of Ugwunye-Ezedike Towns Unity Forum (U-ETUF), Mr. Victor P. O. Uchedienyi noted that “Nganga fathered The formation and smooth operation of the association; “it was in observation of those worthy virtues and outstanding roles that U-ETUF unanimously chose High Chief Christian Obinna Nganga to be the Grand Patron of the association and subsequent veto to have him honoured by our traditional rulers through conferment of chieftaincy title of Ugwunye-Ezedike1 of Enugu State.
“Today’s event is remarkably a major milestone in reactivating the ancestral and nature’s bond of unity among Ugwunye Clan and Ugwunye-Ezedike Development Area of Enugu State in order to enhance security, economic and socio-political interests of member communities; this is in line with the core objectives of Ugwunye-Ezedike Towns Union Forum (U-ETUF) who deemed it necessary to convene this historic honour of a hero of our time, High Chief Nganga and in strengthening the co-existing bond among Ugwunye Clan, Ugwunye-Ezedike Development Area of Enugu State”.
The U-ETUF coordinator general also noted that Ugwunye is a Clan among the four clans that makes up Ugwunye-Ezedike Development Area.
“Ugwunye Clan comprises of Nike, the first son, Egede the second son and Affa the third son”.
Ugwunye-Ezedike Towns Unity Forum (U-ETUF) is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria which admits both the current/past presidents and secretaries general of the 14 autonomous communities within the 4 wards of Ugwunye-Ezedike Development Area.
The 4 wards are;
Affa/Oghu/Ikono ward
Egede/Umuoka ward
Eke ward
Akpakwume/Nze ward.
The 14 communities within these wards include;
Amofia Affa Town
Amozalla Affa Town
Amokwu Affa Town
Affa Town
Oghu Town
Ibute Egede Town
Egede Town
Uwani Umuoka Town
Umuoka Town
Amankwo Eke Town
Eke Town
Akpakwume Town
Ezinze Town.
The event of chieftaincy Conferment Of High Chief Nganga was marked with commissioning of street lights donated to the community by Nganga, presentation of Kolanut, dance presentation by various groups, presentation of gifts, Chieftaincy Conferment, community procession, ancestral visitations, refreshment and more.
Honoured by dignitaries including the Senate Minority Whip; Senator Osita Ngwu, the Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly; Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu and his entourage, Udi Local Government Chairman; Engr. Hyginus Agu, Ward Councillors, Towns PGs and SGs among others.
Chief Nganga was conferred the title; Ugwunye-Ezedike 1 alongside his beautiful wife Chief Mrs. Harriet Nonyelum Nganga as Lolo Osodieme 1 and daughter.
Chief Nganga was also honoured by Nigerian Police Force, Enugu State Command with the compliment of CP Kanayo Uzuegbu psc(+) Commissioner of Police Enugu State.
