House of Representatives Adjourns Plenary in Honour of Late Colleague, Hon. Danbuga

House of Representatives Mourns: Sokoto Representative Remembered for Service and Dedication

The House of Representatives, in a somber tribute, has adjourned plenary until Thursday, October 12, to pay respects to their departed colleague, Hon. Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga. Representing the Isa/Sabon Birni Federal Constituency of Sokoto State, Danbuga passed away on Wednesday morning, aged 63, after a brief illness. The plenary, presided over by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, deferred the day’s scheduled business to allow members to observe the parliamentary tradition of mourning.

Kalu expressed the House’s deep condolences, stating, “The House of Representatives regrets to announce the death of Hon. Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga… The House commiserates with all those he left behind, and prays God comforts his family, constituents, and the entire people of Sokoto State, and grants the late parliamentarian peaceful repose of his soul. Amen.”

Hon. Danbuga, a member of the All Progressives Congress, was elected to the Green Chamber in April 2023 following his victory in the supplementary polls. He was known for his dedicated service to his constituents and leaves behind a legacy of public service.

Late Danbuga has been laid to rest in Sokoto State, in accordance with Islamic rites. His passing leaves a void in the legislative landscape, and his contributions will be remembered with gratitude.
