OKOWA: PDP’s Atiku Will Not Shift Grounds For Wike

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, has reaffirmed his choice to support Ifeanyi Okowa as governor of Delta state despite calls for him to be replaced.

On Saturday, newsmen gathered in Abuja to report that 13 governors and PDP supporters are reaching out to Atiku to defuse the situation.

While some are calling for Okowa to be ousted, others are requesting a truce, which would force Atiku to approach Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers state.

Charity Reporters had reported the Stance of six PDP Governors to boycott support for Atiku, particularly the Venue State governor who said he is currently on hibernation as he waits on God to direct him on who to support for presidency in 2023.

But on Saturday, Atiku tweeted on his verified account @Atiku: “Getting this country back on track will require all hands on deck.

“And I am excited to go on this journey with my vice-presidential candidate, H.E Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa @AIOkowa.

“Let’s come together as ONE towards a brighter future for all and one Nigeria.”

He subsequently attached a video of Okowa addressing Nigerians.

In the video, Okowa describes himself as an incurable optimist ready to work towards the insecurity plaguing the country.

Okowa said: “For me, being on the ticket with Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, is an opportunity to play a role in resetting the trajectory of Nigeria back to the path of growth, peace and prosperity.”
