Akueme Disburses Bursary Funds To Second Batch of 100 Students of Udi Local Government Origin in His Normal Support to Gov. Ugwuanyi, Honorable Agu

The founder/President; Maurice Akueme Foundation on Wednesday 19th April, 2021 disbursed funds to second batch of qualified students of Udi local government area.

Each of the 25 students was awarded N20,000 as Maurice Akueme Foundation Bursary.

While addressing the students; the foundation’s Vice Presidents reiterated on the aims, objectives and features of the Maurice Akueme Foundation, they advised the students not to waste the funds but to make judicious use of them to enable them achieve goals they’re meant for.

Beneficiaries were further advised not to allow the aim of the bursary to be defeated by using the funds to enhance their project works, assignments, purchase required materials and books and as well use the fund to support their school fees.

Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme who joined the program via video chat congratulated the beneficiaries;

“I congratulate you all, I feel so joyful seeing smiles on your faces, as you have smiled today, endeavor to also make your sponsors smile by working hard in your academic pursuits.

“I see no reason why students shouldn’t be paid bursary every year.

“I also see no reason why young graduates in the labour market shouldn’t be paid job seekers allowance.

“We have started the bursary project and by the special Grace of God this has come to stay.

“The job seekers allowance is in progress and would be launched in my hometown this month God willing” he said.

“Our foundation will continue to support the efforts of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and that of Hon. Pascal Agu in the local government to make the people feel the full presence of the government in every nook and cranny of life.

“I want to call on other well meaning Nigerians to rise up to support the government in alleviating and palliating the indigent and empowering the youths to ameliorate hardship within the state”.

Speaking on behalf of the National Council of Enugu State Students; the president Comr. Onah J Onyemaechi commended Akueme for his good thoughts towards the students especially to those of Udi with an extension to Enugu state.

He also eulogised the executive governor of Enugu state for creating an enabling environment as Enugu remains the most peaceful state in Africa.

Onah said “if all men who are well to- do or wealthy can emulate Akueme; the students will have no cause for alarm.

One of the beneficiaries from Eke; Miss Ifunanya Alika who was opportune to speak during the presentation also commended the efforts of Akueme, she encouraged students to always turn up as not every offer of such poses defraud.

She said it is real because he has benefitted not just from Akueme’s bursary but also from his other benevolences and will continue to give a trial to any such opportunities coming from the man “Chief Akueme”.

Recall that weeks ago the Maurice Akueme Foundation had announced its intentions to disburse bursary to students of Udi local government area who meet the eligibility.

Interested persons were expected to visit the MAF Head office at 96 Zik Avenue to obtain bursary form for free.

Onah Joseph Onyemaechi, National Association of Udi Students(NAUS) represented by HRH Igboeli Sixtus and UNN Chapter president of NAUS; Comr. Ifeanyi Mmadubueze amongst other youth and student leaders as well as press men.
