Anambra Governor Suspends Principals Over Free Education Policy Non-Compliance

In a resolute move to enforce the “free education policy” of Anambra State, Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has taken action against four school principals who allegedly violated the directive. This stern action underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring accessible education for all.

The suspension of four school principals was confirmed by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh. The Principals of Washington Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha (Nkem Nkechi); Kenneth Dike Secondary School, Awka (Onwurah Catherine); New Era Secondary School, Onitsha (Dr. Cordelia Okonkwo); and Prince Memorial High School, Onitsha (Amaka Ubaka) are alleged to have acted in contravention of the state’s free education policy.

A committee has been established to thoroughly investigate the actions of the affected principals. If found culpable, they may be required to refund any fees collected. The Commissioner emphasized that this decisive action is in line with the government’s commitment to the policy’s enforcement.
