Atiku Moves To Substitute Okowa’s Name For Wike As Running Mate
Charity Reporters reliably reports that there is serious pressure on Atiku to substitute Governor Okowa’s name with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s name as Vice presidential candidate.
“Politics is about capacity and structure. You need political stamina and weight to win a ruling party that controls so many states.
“Hate or love Governor Wike, he has the political capital to deliver Atiku when the chips are down”, said an insider who pleaded anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information.
Truth Emerges Extensive Investigations revealed that Atiku was surprised to see the calibre of political heavyweights making spirited efforts to have Wike on board their boat and have put machineries in place to counter the development.
One of the measures was a high powered delegation to meet Wike to plead with him not to abandon the party.
Further Investigations shows that most PDP leaders are not happy with the retirement treatment given to Wike and have vowed to get their pound of flesh during the presidential election by secretly working against PDP.
Another source confirmed “that those who advised Atiku to dump Wike are his enemies because he may not be able to galvanize enough votes in the south to give him the needed margin for victory with the hurricane and whirl movement of the OBIdients( Peter Obi’s Supporters). Everything seems to be working right for Labour Party. Peter Obi and his supporters will sweep the south ahead of PDP and he will share the North with APC”, the source had said.
Charity Reporters had reported that in the early days after the primaries, PDP picked Wike to Vice Atiku, a claim which was countered by the office of the PDP national publicity secretary, Ologbondiyan.
About 24 hours later, Atiku announced his running mate to be Ifeanyi Okowa, the incumbent governor of Delta State. Charity Reporters gathered that Atiku’s choice of Okowa was born out of serious pressure.
The National Working Committee of the PDP had earlier set up a 17-man committee saddled with the responsibility of picking the running mate. The committee later zeroed in on Governor Wike which was replaced by Governor Okowa by Atiku.
It was learned that Governors Ikpeazu and Wike had been holidaying in Europe strategising on the next political move.
Charity Reporters had also reported that Wike had met the APC Presidential Candidate, Senator Bola Tinubu who is in France. This claim was debunked by Tinubu’s camp.
If really, they had met, then the outcome of the meeting will determine Governor Wike’s next move.
