Benue State Commissioner of Information Regains Freedom After Abduction
Benue Commissioner Mathew Abo Release
Benue State Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mathew Abo, who was abducted by armed assailants during a raid on his residence in Zaki-Biam on Sunday, has been freed. He reunited with his family in the early hours of Thursday, around 1:00 am.
As of the time of this report, it remains unclear whether a ransom was paid for his release. Attempts to reach Catherine Anene, the spokesperson for the state police command, were unsuccessful.
Abo’s release brings relief to his family and the entire community, while raising questions about the security situation in the region.
