Catholic Priest Allegedly commits Suicide By Shooting Himself In The Head Under Mysterious Circumstances.
Our correspondence confirmed that In the Namwala district of Zambia’s Southern province, a Catholic Priest allegedly commits suicide by shooting himself in the head under mysterious circumstances. On April 21st, Father Kenan Chibawe, 51, of Holy Cross Namwala Catholic Parish, shot himself with a shotgun.
Alfred Nawa, a Deputy Police Commissioner in Zambia’s Southern Province, verified the occurrence to journalists.
Mr. Nawa explained that another Catholic Priest from the same Parish, Father Patrick Kabombe, had reported the incident to the police.
He said Father Chibawe had scheduled a meeting at the parish home with a catholic priest and another church official to examine the Easter celebrations. Father Chibawe was said to have excused himself from the gathering after receiving a phone call from an unknown person.
He claimed that after 20 minutes, the priest and church leader heard a gunshot from Father Chibawe’s room and went to investigate. They discovered him lying in a pool of blood with the gun beside his body.
