Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme Through Fidelity Bank Delivers First Batch of POS Machines as Part of His Business Empowerment Scheme in Support of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s Human Development Plans

In his usual manner of supporting the government of Enugu State led by Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme again delivers another business empowerment project to intending traders.

The Maurice Akueme Foundation yesterday delivered POS Machines to first batch of prospective traders who applied for the MAF business empowerment scheme.

Delivery was made after the beneficiaries had undergone classes of trainings with Fidelity Bank Plc.

In a video chat during the training, Chief Maurice Akueme stated that he was touched by the high level of unemployment in the country and the amount of messages he receives in a day seeking for financial help, he also stated that no bank will recognise a start up and no bank will even think of dispensing loan to any intending traders; “they can only start through this little opportunities we are creating and we will ensure close monitoring of their new businesses until they stand firm as business owners” he said.

Forms were obtained for free at the head office of the Maurice Akueme Foundation, Enugu.

Recall that weeks ago the Maurice Akueme Foundation had called on interested persons to apply for POS Machines for free.

POS business is a very lucrative and legitimate way to make money in Nigeria. However, it’s more profitable in communities with no banks and places where ATMs are not enough to serve the community’s financial needs.

It is also called agent banking business, and it’s an extension of the services offered by financial institutions to enable easy service offering to a wide range of customers.

POS (Point of Sale) business offers services like funds transfer and withdrawal, airtime sales, bill payments like GOTV, DSTV, Startimes, PHCN, and other utility bills. It is used in several places where goods and services are sold/rendered; places like retail shops, offices, supermarkets, fuel/gas stations, pharmacies, eateries, etc.

By creating easy access for financial transactions in different localities, the POS business has given individuals and business owners additional income. As a result, they are sometimes called bank agents.

Although not serving as direct employees of a bank, they deliver banking services on behalf of banks on an agreed commission. It is a profitable business and one of the best means of getting passive income.

This is one of the things Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme is doing in the area of human capital development and business empowerment.
