Labour Faults FG’s Meeting, Insists on Indefinite Strike

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has faulted the recent meeting between the federal government and labour unions, insisting that the strike will continue indefinitely.
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has faulted the recent meeting between the federal government and labour unions, insisting that the strike will continue indefinitely.
The NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, said that the government had failed to address the key demands of the unions, which include the reversal of the recent increase in fuel prices and the provision of electricity subsidies.
Wabba said that the government had also failed to give a clear commitment to addressing the other demands of the unions, such as the inwcrease of the minimum wage and the improvement of working conditions.

“The meeting with the government was a waste of time,” Wabba said. “They have nothing to offer us.”
The NLC has called on all workers to continue the strike until the government meets their demands.
The strike has entered its second day, and it has had a significant impact on the Nigerian economy. Many businesses have been forced to close, and transportation has been disrupted.
The government has appealed to the unions to call off the strike, but they have refused to do so. The unions have said that they will continue the strike until their demands are met.
