Military Plane Crash in Abuja Leaves Non Alive
A Nigerian Air Force NAF201 jet, a B350 aircraft, which departed Abuja at 1033UTC with six persons on board, including two crew, has crashed near Abuja Airport.
All six persons on board are reported dead.
The aircraft was said to have reported engine failure at 1039 and crashed landed on the final approach path of Abuja Runway 22 at time 1048UTC.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has confirmed the crash of military aircraft King Air 350 on the runway in Abuja.
He made the confirmation in a tweet on Sunday, saying the accident appears fatal.
“A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna.
“It appears to be fatal.
“We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any”.
A tweet which has generated a lot of controversies, reactions, comments alleging that it could be the military aircraft that was used to shoot sporadically at civilians in Orlu.
Meanwhile according to Charity Reporters correspondences who are on ground to confirm that the fire service are already at the scene of the accident battling with the fire which broke out as a result of the crash.
As at the time of filing this report, there has been no survivor and the actual cause of the crash is yet to be confirmed by the military as it has since reportedly dived into action to investigate or ascertain the cause of military plane crash in Abuja.
