Nigerians React To The Life Imprisonment Served To Billionaire Kidnapper Evans.
According to our reporters, Evans and his co-defendants, Uchenna Amadi and Okuchuwkwu Nwachukwu, were sentenced by Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Lagos High Court in Ikeja after being convicted on two charges of conspiracy and kidnapping of Duru.
The video evidence presented against the legendary kidnapper demonstrated that he was guilty of the crimes he is accused of, according to the trial judge, Justice Oshodi.
Evans and his co-defendant were charged by the Lagos State Government with kidnapping Donatus Duru, the Managing Director of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Limited, on February 14, 2017.
In addition, the millionaire kidnapper is facing identical allegations before the same court’s Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo and Justice Adedayo Akintoye.
Some Nigerians reacted positively to the news, praising the decision and urging the Nigerian government to guarantee that the renowned kidnapper is never freed again.
Others questioned why the trial took so long and why the kidnapper’s sentence came at a time when Abba Kyari, the suspended commander of the Intelligence and Response Team (IRT), is being investigated for drug trafficking.
