~ Profile of Hon. Godwin Chidozie Ogenyi; The Executive Director Yordel Africa.

Hon. Godwin Chidozie Ogenyi was Born to the family of Felix and Comfort Ogenyi from Mgbuji Eha-Amufu, isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State on 10th February, 1960.

He attended Eha Township School (ETS) Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo L.G.A. of Enugu State, later he gained admission into community secondary school in Isienu Nsukka.

After his secondary education, he gained admission into the prestigious University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC), where he obtained a B.Sc Hons. Land Surveying Geodesy and Photogrammetry in 1986.

Hon. Ogenyi is a human Resource Development Agent and Consultant in different areas of life; an Innovative, Inspiring, gifted, skilled and dynamic personality with tested leadership, organizational and mobilization skills.

He is the CEO of YORDEL AFRICA as he was inspired by his vision of making people, building people, raising men and women, he invested deeply in establishing YORDEL AFRICA as a medium for human resources and development to empower youth, awards scholarship to the less privileged and youths with high intellectual in over 50 countries.

Not only on formal education but as well as informal education such as skill acquisition, training and empowerment after training. Today, many beneficiaries has become successful business men and women through training and empowerment and some with first and second degrees in different universities within and across the country.

Hon. Ogenyi is a bridge builder, a peace maker who found the importance of oneness, a philanthropist, he was an active member that resolved the age long dispute at Okwojo Ngwo and restored peace and tranquility to the people in 1994.

He is a Christian and God fearing, dedication and commitment to the things of God gave him rise to the National President; Student Christian of Nigeria, he presided over the affairs of the organization in all the 36 states of the federation, interfaced with several International Development Agencies and Managed the operation of the movement in all the schools and higher institutions in Nigeria.

He established a Link between SCM of Nigeria and the World Students Christian Federation Regional H/Q at Nairobi and the International office at Genève Switzerland.

He was the National Secretary Eha-Amufu Believers Association (EBA) with more than 500 Clergies as members of the Association.

He is the Founder Agape Comprehensive College, Eha-Amufu School Project, The YORDEL Africa Established and Runs the Agape comprehensive School established since 1997 in Eha-Amufu, Isi-UzoLGA, to assist the poor in one of the rural communities in Enugu State of Nigeria.

The school has helped to reduce poverty and illiteracy level among our Youths and has offered opportunities for thousands of people including adults to attend school and obtain certificates, paved way for jobs and higher academic learning opportunities.

This project is solely being funded by YORDEL Africa since 1997.

Positions of Trust Held

Hon. Ogenyi was appointed to the office of Honorable Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Poverty Reduction Enugu State, in 2011.

As an experienced and expert in human resource and human development, he brought tremendous changes in the neghbourhood security programme.

While in office he;

i. Established, coordinated, monitored and directed the operations of seven hundred and eighty security groups that made Enugu State the safest State in Nigeria as of 2014.

ii. He mobilized, managed and supervised fourteen thousand cooperative society groups.

iii. Developed, various social, net protestation intervention programmes.

iv. In liaison with various ministries and agencies and administered different pro-poor programmes in the State including conditional cash transfer (CCT), YESSO, SURE-P, Kero distribution, BOI, BOA, and CBN intervention funds programmes among others.

✓ Training Resource person to the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) Education Department. Provides imputes and trainings at the ICPC Headquarters especially on the National Anti-corruption Coalition – towards building a viral national anti corruption coalition in Nigeria.

✓ Secretary, Enugu State Voters Registration Monitoring Committee.- Under the Directive of our astute Chairman, he coordinated all the activities of all the LG Monitors, Ward Monitors and all the Secretaries involved in the registration Exercise, managed all Administrative functions and provided Daily updates and reports for all the registration units in the state.

✓ Member Enugu State committee on Agriculture.

✓ Member, Local Government Election Tribunal, Enugu State, Nigeria 1992: With the tribunal Chaired by Mrs Justina Offia SAN, and Bar B.I.O Igwe, they successfully conducted the affairs of the tribunal, and delivered all their Judgments impartially.

✓ Member Board of Director Nigeria Widowhood Association, Child Rescue and Survival Project (CRESUP) Nigeria.

✓ Member, Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria (2000 – present).

✓ Chairman of the Board of Directors Kennedy Medical Foundation USA and Nigeria.

✓ The Republican Party Local mobilizer for Middletown, Delaware USA.

✓ Member, Civil Society Organizations participation in Code of Conduct for National Assembly.

✓ Was consultant for USAID for the training of all the elected local Government officials in the South East and South South States of Nigeria after the 1999 election.

✓ Director of International Operations, Global Mission for Comprehensive Human Development,(GMCHD) based in USA. He conducted the funding operations of this international development Agency in 12 different countries

✓ Hon Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Poverty Reduction, Enugu State, 2011 till date.

✓ Executive Director: YORDEL Africa 1996-2011.

✓ Manages day-to- day staff and office administration. Initiates and executes projects in partnership with various International-funding agencies. Articulates and prepares project proposals. Negotiated and secured project funding from USAID, UNICEF DFID, Action Aid INTERNATIONAL, GIRLS INTERNATIONAL WORLD EDUCATION, INTERACT UK, CEDPA, JHU/CCP among others. Develops and manages YORDEL relationships with national and international development agencies. Oversees Project tracking and generates reports. Provides regular project evaluation and updates. Effectively working to meet sponsor and client expectations. Coordinates YORDEL consultancy services for various organizations. Conducts Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Motivational and character building workshop, and seminars for the youth in Nigeria, other African countries and the USA among others.

• As the Director, have been responsible for the global outreach of the organization. Relates with governments and institutions all over the world on behalf of the GMCHD, fostering partnerships and creating mission opportunities. Raises international support for the agency, employs and directs all the staff in over 12 countries where we are active, vets request, and reports only to the president and the board of directors for all the international operations of the organisation.

✓ Founder and director, USA Group for Nigeria’s Democratic Legacy 2002-Date.

✓ Founded and coordinates the operations of the USA Group for Nigeria Democratic Legacy, a non profit organization that is canvassing for Nigeria’s positive image aboard and toured American States and the Nigeria Embassy in Washington, USA distributing T-Shirts and Caps, Sensitizing Nigerians for the enthronement of Sustainable Democracy in Nigeria.

✓ Director, Africa Business Exchange Initiative: – Enhance the lives of people in the developing world especially Africa, Mr. Ogenyi has organized and led several American companies and entrepreneurs for Business Exchanges to the following countries:- Nigeria, Chad republic, Peru in south America.

Prior to Governorship contestant, Omere Oha (as he is profoundly called by the people he has impacted their lives) has a track record of quiet philanthropy and good will especially in Enugu his own state.
