The case of Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu, has been adjourned by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja till 8 of April 2022 for ruling.

The trial of separatist leader resumed on Wednesday. Kanu is charged with 15 crimes, including terrorism, treason, incitement and operating an unlawful group. Kanu, who heads the outlawed separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Kanu’s Lead Counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) argued on Wednesday that his client, Kanu, was extraordinarily renditioned.

He said offences allegedly committed by Kanu has no basis, adding that where and when they committed were not stated in the charges.

Protests calling for Kanu’s release are taking place around Europe today, including in Germany, in front of the United Nations (UN) buildings in Bonn.

It was the same in Nigeria’s southeast region, as residents of Imo state, completely obeyed the sit-at-home order of IPOB, in solidarity with Kanu.
