Benue State Launches Comprehensive Youth Data Enrollment Program

Benue State Youth Data Enrollment Program

The Benue State Government has initiated a youth enrollment program targeting individuals aged between 17 and 45. This endeavor aims to establish a comprehensive database of the youth population in Benue. According to Hon Terkimbi Ikyange, the Commissioner overseeing the Ministry of Youths, Sports, and Creativity, this database will serve as a foundation for formulating both short-term and long-term policies and programs to address the diverse needs and aspirations of the state’s young population.

The program is designed to encompass various aspects such as employment opportunities, job creation, youth empowerment, and skills acquisition. Additionally, a range of welfare packages is expected to be rolled out in due course. Mr. Ikyange emphasized that youths within the age groups of 17-30 and 31-45 are mandated to participate in this data enrollment initiative. They can do so by accessing the Benue Youth Data Form Portal and providing the requisite information.

To facilitate this process, Commissioner Ikyange encouraged youths to obtain forms from the Ministry’s Youth Development/Sports Officers stationed in all 23 Local Government Areas. Additionally, NYSC Corps members have been deployed to assist in the data collection exercise. It was stressed that prompt enrollment is crucial, as only those who are duly documented with the ministry will be eligible to benefit from the various youth development initiatives spearheaded by the state government.

This initiative holds significant promise for Benue’s youth population, offering the potential for tailored programs and policies that address their unique needs and contribute to their overall development and well-being.
