The Ondo State Police Command has rescued eight out of 25 people who were kidnapped on Friday while traveling for a burial program in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the rescue in a statement on Saturday.
Odunlami said the victims were rescued after the police and other security agencies engaged the kidnappers in a gun battle.

She said the victims were unharmed and had been reunited with their families.
Odunlami said the police were still on the trail of the kidnappers and would not rest until they were brought to justice.
The rescue of the eight kidnapped CAC members is a welcome development. It is a sign that the police and other security agencies are committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens.
