Iloegbunam Alex Chukwuemeka IPOB Sub-group Leader Commends Peaceful Protest In Enugu, Calls For Calm

The members of the Indigenous People of Biafra has commended members for participating in a freedom rally.

The sub-group led by Iloegbunam Alex Chukwuemeka organized a rally in Enugu State, commending the group, Nwadike Obiora posted thus;

“I can tell you categorically that the protest was organized and carried out peacefully no lives was lost no properties destroyed.

“We were informed by one of our publicity members Mr Chike Okafor that there will be an emergency meeting coming up on 6th January, 2018 at Fegge Onitsha in Anambra State.

“Our sub group leader Mr Iloegbunam Alex Chukwuemeka was directed to lead members to attend the meeting.

“The agenda of the meetings is to remind all Biafra’s sons and dauthers not to relent in fighting for freedom. Be your brother’s keeper do not be afraid of Nigeria police or army who could not protect her citizens.

“Biafra is from God and it must stand. Nigeria government cannot stop us to achieve it now or in the nearer future.

“After the meeting in Anambra, we moved to Nssuka in Enugu state for another crucial meeting on Monday 8th January, 2018.

“Our sub group leader Mr Iloegbunam Alex Chukwuemeka addressed all members present. He told us to get ready that we are going to town to let the world know that Biafra is not a terrorist group.

“Also to meet the governor of the state to make their complaint know to him about the proscription of the Biafra group by the Nigeria government as a terror group.

“We were giving out Biafra t-shirt, face cap, flags, banners and other Biafra items were shared to members of the public within Enugu metropolis. Suddenly Nigeria army and police came to stop us, beating everyone present using tear gas and live bullets.

“Some of our members were seriously wounded, some were arrested while few others were able to run for their lives”, he wrote.

According to our correspondent, the rally organized in Enugu was part of their way to convene the proscribed group grievances over the recent proscription by President Muhammadu Buhari.
