A commercial tricycle operator in Kano State, Salisu Auwal, has returned the sum of N19m he found in his vehicle to the owner.
Auwal, who is 21 years old, has been riding a tricycle for a living for about three years. He said that he found the money in his tricycle on a Saturday morning, after a passenger had alighted.
Auwal took the money home and told his mother about it. They decided to return the money to the owner, even though they did not know who it was.
Auwal heard an announcement on the radio about the missing money, and he called the number that was provided. He was able to return the money to the owner, who was a Chadian businessman.

The owner of the money was very grateful to Auwal for his honesty. He said that he had never met anyone like Auwal before.
