Former Manager Reveals Details

A family dispute has taken a legal turn as Emeka Chochoo, the former manager of veteran actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, sheds light on the reasons behind the police summoning Mr Ibu’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, and two of his sons, Daniel and Val.

The controversy unfolded after reports emerged that Mr Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris, allegedly ordered the arrest of Jasmine and the actor’s sons amid a prolonged social media dispute regarding the signatory authority over Mr Ibu’s account. Nollywood actress Doris Ogala brought the news to light on Instagram, claiming that the trio had been detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.

According to Ogala, the arrest stemmed from allegations that Jasmine transferred a substantial sum of N300 million, donated for Mr Ibu’s medical treatments, out of the actor’s account. The wife purportedly accused Jasmine of using the funds to purchase a new house, leading to the involvement of law enforcement.

However, Emeka Chochoo, providing insight into the situation, revealed that the motive behind the arrests was tied to Mrs. Stella Maris’s desire for a new residence. Allegedly, she wanted the funds contributed for Mr Ibu’s medical expenses to be used for the purchase of a house. The investigation, as disclosed by Chochoo, contradicts Mrs. Maris’s claim, stating that the contributed funds do not even amount to N300 million.

This family feud has not only played out in public but has now entered the legal arena, drawing attention to the complexities of financial matters within the celebrity household. As the investigation unfolds, the spotlight remains on the conflicting narratives surrounding the alleged financial impropriety and the true motivations behind the arrests.
