IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu Discharged, Not Acquitted – Malami
On Thursday, The Court of Appeal in Abuja discharged and acquitted the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu against the terrorism charge the Federal Government preferred against him.
However, the Minister of Justice, Malami has just issued a statement explaining that the discharge order from Appeal court does not affect the prior trial of treason which was ongoing before Kanu jumped bail and ran away from Nigeria in 2018.
Also, the AGF says he’ll explore all avenues to see that Nnamdi Kanu goes to jail.
This implies a possible appeal to the Supreme Court.
