Joel Matip’s own goal in the 96th minute gave Tottenham Hotspur a dramatic 2-1 victory over nine-man Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

Spurs continued to press for the winner, and they were finally rewarded in the 96th minute when Matip turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Son.

The victory was Spurs’ first over Liverpool since 2018, and it moved them up to second place in the Premier League table.

This was a remarkable match, with Spurs coming back from a goal down to win against nine-man Liverpool.

Liverpool were the better team for the majority of the match, but they were undone by their own indiscipline. Robertson’s red card was particularly costly, as it left Liverpool with only ten men for the final eight minutes of the match.

Spurs took full advantage of Liverpool’s numerical disadvantage, and they were rewarded with a dramatic victory in the dying moments of the match.

Matip’s own goal was a cruel way for Liverpool to lose the match, but it was a deserved victory for Spurs. They were the better team in the second half, and they created a number of chances to win the match.

The victory will be a huge boost for Spurs’ morale. It is a sign that they are capable of beating the best teams in the Premier League.
