In a video capturing Thursday’s session, Ndume expressed his dissatisfaction with the Senate President’s approach, which, according to him, included passing certain bills without the customary reading and contributions from fellow members.

This sharp critique from Ndume was echoed by Senator Ogoshi Onawo, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party representing Nasarawa State. Onawo, too, voiced his disapproval of Akpabio’s apparent haste in pushing through significant bills.

The contentious issue revolves around the swift passage of crucial bills, which some Senators argue is being done without the thorough scrutiny and debate necessary for robust legislation. They argue that such a practice may not be in the best interest of the nation.

The discourse highlights the need for a balanced and inclusive legislative process that allows for comprehensive deliberations on proposed bills. It is a call for a more deliberative approach that ensures the collective interests of the nation are considered in the crafting of important policies.
