Tinubu Approves N25,000 Provisional Allowance for Junior Civil Servants

President Bola Tinubu has approved a provisional allowance of N25,000 for junior federal workers over the next six months. This means that junior civil servants may get a total of N55,000 over the six-month period, if the allowance is paid in full.

The allowance was approved after negotiations with labour unions and other stakeholders in the business community. The aim of the allowance is to increase the minimum wage for them without triggering undue inflation.

The allowance will be paid to all junior civil servants who earn below N30,000 per month. It is expected to benefit over 1 million workers.

The approval of the provisional allowance for junior civil servants is a positive development. It shows that the government is committed to improving the welfare of its workers. The allowance is also expected to boost the purchasing power of junior civil servants, which could have a positive impact on the economy.

However, it is important to note that the allowance is provisional, and it is not clear whether it will be made permanent after six months. It is also important to ensure that the allowance is paid promptly and in full.

Overall, the approval of the provisional allowance is a good step forward, but it is important to monitor the situation closely to ensure that the allowance is implemented effectively and that it benefits the intended beneficiaries.
