Gunmen Attacts And Murder Popular Businessman In IMO State
Gunmen who are on the rampage in Imo State struck again on Thursday, killing a businessman who is based in the Oguta Local Government Area of the state.
The businessman, Linus Nmuo, popularly known as Sakatan, was killed at his country home at Umuezikegbu in Egbuoma community in the Oguta LGA in the early hours of the day.
the attackers went to their victim’s house and dragged him out.
They shot him repeatedly, making sure he was dead before they left the scene.
The source said, “Livinus Nmuo, AKA Sakatan from Umuezikegbu Egbuoma in Oguta LGA Imo State has been assassinated. He was killed in the early hours of today Thursday 30th November 2023. He was my cousin.”
the Imo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force confirmed the gruesome killing of the traditional ruler of Otulu Autonomous Community in Ezinihitte-Mbaise Council area of the state, His Royal Highness, Eze Joe Achulor.
According to reports, some gunmen operating as kidnappers allegedly shot and killed the ruler, last Saturday evening.
His assassination is coming barely 24 hours after the gunmen also assassinated the ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the nearby Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze Ward in the same Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of the State, Chiedoziem Anyanwu.
On arrival, his killers demanded to see him. Immediately they confirmed that he was the one they were looking for, they shot him repeatedly and made sure that he was dead before they left the scene.
community source had said the traditional ruler was abducted by gunmen whose identity had yet to be identified on Saturday morning, at his palace in Otulu.
Hours later, the lifeless body of the monarch was found along Mbutu Community Road, in Aboh-Mbaise LGA, a neighbouring community same Saturday in the night.
Also, few days earlier, the ward chairman of the People Democratic Party in the Ife/ Akpodim/ chokoneze ward in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of the state, Chiedoziem Anyanwu was assassinated in the presence of his wife.
