Employee Apprehended for Allegedly Pilfering 47 Bags of Rice in Ogun State

Ogun State Police Arrest Employee for Rice Theft

The Ogun State Police Command has taken into custody an individual suspected of embezzling 47 bags of rice from his employer in the Ijebu region of the state. The alleged theft, amounting to N2,500,000, involved Damilola Bada, a storekeeper at Chicken & Co. company.

According to the statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, on Saturday, the proprietor of Chicken & Co., Oluremi Olabode, promptly reported the incident to the Igbeba division of the Ogun State police force. The report led to the apprehension of 25-year-old Damilola Bada.

The stolen bags of rice, valued at two million, five hundred thousand Naira, were allegedly pilfered by Bada in collusion with other employees.

Following an audit of the store, the theft came to light. Damilola Bada was subsequently taken into custody by the Divisional Police Officer at Igbeba division. During the interrogation, Bada allegedly failed to provide a satisfactory account of the missing bags of rice that were under his care.

The arrest of Damilola Bada in connection with the alleged theft of rice underscores the importance of accountability and integrity in the workplace. The case will now proceed through legal channels, affirming the commitment to upholding justice and deterring such acts of embezzlement within Ogun State.
