The Executive Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh has Awarded the sum of N200,000 bursary to the Lead Speaker of the Team IMT, Mr. Bethel Chukwu.

Recall that the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu won the Grand-finale of the National Debate 2022, an inter higher institutions debate competition organized by Monday Diamond Foundation in Abuja on the 9th of September 2022.

The Academic Discussion Competition which produced the Team IMT as the Champion drew the attention of millions of Nigerians as salient issues were discussed.

The Convener of THE NATIONAL DEBATE 2022, Monday Diamond Ani who led the Lead Speaker to the Mayor of Nkanu East stated that he was dumbfounded on discovering that the Chief Speaker of Team IMT is from Nkanu East Local Government Area and not just from Nkanu East but also from the same Community (Ugbawka) with the Mayor of Nkanu East.

The Executive Chairman of Nkanu East expressed delight with the performance of Chukwu Bethel and heartily commended him for making his people proud at the National level.

Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh after awarding the sum of 200k to Chukwu Bethel to enhance his education, approved his appointment as Special Assistant on Student Matters to Nkanu East LGA Chairman.

The ecstatic Bethel in tears of joy expressed gratitude to the Mayor for appreciating his efforts and empowering him beyond expectations.

Bethel also appreciated the Convener of THE NATIONAL DEBATE’22 Hon Monday Diamond Ani for providing such an enabling environment for him to show-case his academic prowess and emerging the champion.
