AGN Suspends Jerry Williams Over Drug Abuse

The leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has suspended Nollywood actor, Jerry Williams, indefinitely over alleged drug abuse.

According to a statement released and signed by the National President of the Guild, Mr Emeka Rollas, the association has been monitoring the steps of Jerry Williams since December, 2022, it resolved to suspend Jerry from all performing activities over excessive misuse of illicit drugs.

The statement further explained that the leadership of AGN suspended Jerry Williams in order to avoid any situation on set that may endanger other actors.

The statement reads, “The Guild has been monitoring his involvement in illicit substances since December last year, until it got out of hand and as it is now, he cannot be allowed to associate with other performers on set due to danger.

“He ought to have been suspended before now, but we decided to allow him go through minor treatments, which he has been defaulting overtime. As it stands now, Jerry is a risk not only to himself, but also other actors who might be acting alongside him on set.

“We, therefore, have decided to suspend him indefinitely until he gets a clean bill of health from a medical practitioner or a professional that handles drugs abuse”.

Jerry Williams is a celebrity in Nigeria, a talented actor, and a film producer. He currently lives in Asaba while his family lives in Lagos.
